That smell you get when you enter your Nonna's after she's fried up 2kgs of cotoletta is exactly how I felt when I walked into Paninoteca.
Another successful family-run business owned by two Sicilian brothers (the land of my people).
Ladies and Gentlemen I introduce you to the Deli Stack:
Soft Ciabatta Bread
Ham
Salami
Prosciutto
Mortadella
Caciocavallo Cheese
Pesto
Sundried Tomatoes
Rocket
My god it's a cholesterol patient's dream wrapped up in a panino, definitely what the doctor ordered ;).
Just look at that attention to detail with the cold meats.
The panino was served fresh with a side of hand cut deep fried potato chips with Parmesan Cheese and Herbs drizzled on top, it's like ordering a burger with fries but panino style ;).
The Deli Stack tastes even better the next day, I put it under the grill and watched the cheese melt over all those delicious cold meats, you guys seriously need to try this!
The two brothers Rob and Dave have came up with this amazing idea for their customers to collaborate with Paninoteca. From time to time they run a special competition for customers to engage in the panino making process by creating your own sandwich and delving into the beloved Italian tradition.
Just imagine making your own beloved panino with all the right ingredients, Prosciutto, Salami, Mortadella, Provolone, is your mouth watering yet?
These brothers are taking it One Panino At A Time and are looking to launch their second Paninoteca in Brunswick, with the hopes of opening up in the next few weeks!
Everything on the menu has been inspired from their families cooking and visiting all the famous paninoteca's around Sicily. Their aim is to tell their childhood story through their love of food and showing the public that a great panino brings people together, and it really does.
Paninoteca has over 20 panini on the menu with their most popular one being the, Scotch Fillet and Pork Belly. I think I will need to come back again and try this. The boys have wanted to open up a panino style deli for years and are finally making their dreams a reality by doing it the second time round!
These Sicilian brothers are taking the panino world by storm and not even Dan Andrews will stop them from pursuing their panino dreams ;).
These guys are located at 130 Gaffney St, Coburg.
